Molly Brielle Sario

It's a girl!

Molly weighs about a pound now and is getting stronger and bigger every day. I'm almost 25 weeks and finally starting to show. I feel huge but some people are still shocked to hear that I'm pregnant and already 5 months along. Wow, only 15 weeks to go before we get to meet our little girl.

Will is already the cutest dad ever. He says goodmorning and goodnight to Molly every day while rubbing and/or kissing my big tummy and he always sings songs about my "Molly bump". He has dreams about holding her or playing with her and loving her so much he could burst. He is constantly saying that he can't wait to meet her and how bad he wants her to come out and play. His excitement for Molly helps take away any fear I have of actually giving birth.

I will try to post a picture soon of my baby bump so you all can follow along on Molly's growth!

Baby...Girl?

Like I said I would, I'm updating the blog after our August 8th ultra sound appointment. Unfortunately, the baby was a little camera shy. I was told to drink a soda or eat a candy bar before I came in for the appointment to make sure the baby was really wiggly. Well, I did both but to no avail. We found out that our baby loves the fetal position (huh, I wonder why they named it that!) and doesn't really care if it is being bounced up and down from us poking and proding from the outside of my belly. It was just so content to sit there in it's little fetal position not showing us a thing (down there). The ultrasound technician, Lisa was able to get some great footage of the baby's heart and hands and confirmed that all 10 fingers and toes are accounted for and is in great growing health! Lisa was not about to give up after the first try though. After about 10 minutes of trying she sent us back out, had me drink and apple juice and then called us back in after her next appointment. The baby had moved! But like I said, it was camera shy and every time we got a glimps between the legs, the heel was covering or the hands were covering. At a point Lisa told us that she thought it was a girl but she couldn't be sure and told us not to go out and buy a bunch of pink. Hopefully the little baby will be more cooperative next time!

The Mouse

I am going to begin this story by setting forth some facts:

1. Our neighborhood has mice. Our neighbor said he thought they were coming from our side yard because we have some dead weeds that we haven't cut down (we never see that side so we just don't notice or remember!) and I guess mice live in weeds. So I went over to the side and looked but I seriously doubt they are living there. Although there are a few tall weeds, the grass (dead grass actually) is short! On top of that, our smallest cat is an excellent mouser (as you will hear more about later). Needless-to-say, we have mice in our backyard.

2. Our cats love to catch and play with mice.

3. After our cats catch the mouse and toss it into the air a few times hoping it will somehow come back to life and play with them, they bring the limp rodent (still fully intact...no blood even!) to our doorstep and poudly present their trophy.

4. Will loves to sleep with the sliding glass door open (he wont even close the screen!!) in our bedroom so that he doesn't have to wake up several times in the middle of the night when the cats want in or out. Although I have told him many times that insects and mice can just tromp right in and greet us in bed, he will not accept this fact (or maybe he is just willing to take the risk so that he doesn't have to open the door for the cats).

Now, I may begin to tell of the saga that began at 3:00am last night (morning)...

I was awoken from a peaceful slumber when I heard my smallest cat, Cutie running around on my side of the bed and softly meowing. Sometimes she gets a little playful in the middle of the night so I didn't think much about it. When the racket persisted and her meowing grew louder I got up out of bed to use the restroom and check to see what was up. Thankfully, I am used to practically sleep walking to the bathroom...you will understand why in a second.

On my way back to bed, I turned on the closet light (so as not to disturb Will too much) to check out what was going on with Cutie. She sat still when the light came on and looked up at me with some very proud and "mouse"chievous eyes. I glanced at the sliding door....OPEN! My worst fears were confirmed when I slowly knelt down and peeked under my night stand. MOOOOOUSE!

Now, unlike most girly-girls, I didn't scream and jump onto the bed in one flying leap (although if I had turned on the light before I went to the bathroom I very likely would have wet my pants!). Oh no, I have had quite a few "trophy mouse" experiences, as I like to call them, so I was prepared. I stood my ground so that my precious and proud Cutie would not follow me onto the bed with her fresh mouse. Huge mouse might I add (good job, Cutie!).

Will started to rustle in bed and I quickly told him, "Cutie caught a mouse under my nightstand." Now, I don't know if the mouse actually came in through the door on its own and then Cutie caught it from within the bedroom or, if she brought it in to show us her kill of the night. Either way, there was a mouse in our bedroom! Yuck!

His response (half-asleep): "Good job, Cutie. Now come to bed Sweetie, we'll get it in the morning." IN THE MORNING?!!! At that point I walked over to the bed (2 steps) and told him again, "No, Will, there is a mouse under my nightstand!" Once again, his response was, "I know, don't worry, we'll get it in the morning." He just had to have been asleep (hence the ZZZZ's in the picture above).

When I informed him that I was not going to come back to bed until he got the mouse (hey, I'm pregnant and I'm a girl, I am not going to touch a dead mouse!), he........immediately jumped out of bed to come save his princess! Yeah right, haha! He did get up though, and as he did, I jumped into bed. Safe!

As he rounded the corner to my side of the bed, I hurridly picked up my "propping pillow" from the ground next the the night stand. Bad move. Apparently the mouse was not fully dead and had managed to wiggle it's way under my extra pillow (anything is better than under the paw of a cat I suppose). So, as I picked up the pillow I saw the mouse roll and plop back onto the carpet. Instinctively I threw the pillow (at Will, haha) and jumped back on the bed.

Will giggled softly, picked up the giant mouse by the tail (commenting on what a good job Cutie had done on catching such a big one), threw it out onto the back porch and closed the sliding glass door after Cutie ran out to devour her midnight snack.

As we snuggled back into bed for the remainder of the night I reminded my dear husband that we cannot leave the door open at night because we will end up with mice living in our house. As usual, he stuck to his guns and assured me that we don't/wont have any mice in the house..."Not any live ones anyway!" YUCK!

Guns in Cayucos

Last weekend Will, his friend Seth and I decided to have a nice relaxing weekend in Cayucos at his parent's beach house. It's reserved pretty much every weekend so when we found out it would be free we jumped on the chance to use it. Since boys were the majority and Seth had just bought a new gun, the theme of the trip ended up being...you guessed it...Guns. I brought some crochetting and a magazine and had fun listening to the boys being boys.

These are "hollow-point" bullets for Will's gun. If you look closely you can see that there is a little hole in the tip of the bullet. As if regular bullets aren't deadly enough...Will had to buy ones that break apart on impact. Ouch!

Will's gun is the silver one and Seth's is the black one. He thought he was pretty cool flinging them around like a cowboy (they weren't loaded of coarse!).

The manyly discussion and research begins!

At the Range

This is me watching Will and Seth shoot their guns at the shooting range. The manager there was nice enough to not charge me for watching and he even said it was ok if I wanted to shoot a couple of rounds. So, I took a turn and tried out both Will and Seth's gun. I was practically blown away by Seth's gun it had so much power, and I wasn't really a good shot with either one. But I still had such a blast!

When we got to the shooting range Will and Seth set up their targets and had to wait 20 minutes until the next "cease fire" before they could take them out to the burms and set them up.

These are benches to set up a rifle or really big heavy gun. You can sit and aim at targets as far out as 350 yards! Imagine having to walk all the way out there (and uphill!) to change the target sheet! Luckily there wasn't anyone that was shooting that far so we didn't have to wait that long to begin shooting again.

What a perfect shot of Will shooting Seth's gun. Even in Will's big strong hands it had a ton of kick...imagine me shooting it!

Seth was trying a one-handed cowboy manuever in this shot. His cowboy gun (that's what it looks like!) was actually more accurate than Will's. I don't remember specific names.

Cheater!

Seth was having way too much fun!

Canada

I took these pictures at a mining museum in Canada.

Ultrasound

This is the first picture of our precious little baby. It got a little dark when I scanned it in but if you look closely, you can see the baby lounging against the wall of my uterus. The white dots under the body are the baby's legs. They show up much more clear in the actual photo. This picture was taken on June 12, 2006 so I'm sure it's much bigger now. On August 8 we have our second ultrasound appointment and hopefully we will find out the sex. I will post the picture as soon as we get it!

Baby Update!

Yesterday Will and I went in for our second Dr. appointment. We were hoping to get enough courage to ask the Dr. if we could squeeze in an ultrasound (we aren't scheduled for one till August 8) so that we could find out what the sex is but we sort of clammed up when the time came. Instead, we got to listen to the baby's heartbeat. It took the Dr. a while to find it. You should have seen the look on Will's face as we waited! The Dr. noticed and said not to worry, that he heard the heart beat but he wanted to find a spot where it was loud so that we could hear it. Sure enough the baby popped to the surface and it's heartbeat came through loud and clear! Will's face was covered with relief!

Since work is slow right now and I'm waiting for information to come in from clients, I decided to look around the internet for Nursery ideas. This construction theme will definately have to be what we use if we are having a boy!!! Will wants to leave the light steel purple color that we have on the walls right now but I'm not sure that would quite go with this theme!

Bums

Where are they coming from? Visalia has six (that I can think of) local bums that beg in the areas that I frequent. Today I saw a new woman bum so that makes seven. Their favorite spot perhaps is on the corner of Mineral King and Mooney. They are wise to the fact that most working people take that exit. They litter everywhere they squat, they leave their crates (what I call a bum's lazy boy) on the corner claiming their spot for the next day, and they move shopping carts from one end of the town to the other. I wonder why they choose places like Wal-Mart and McDonalds to beg? Don't people shop there because they don't have any money? Maybe the middle to lower class people can relate more to the bum's and therefore are better givers. Who knows.

My husband's uncle was shopping for new work boots one day near San Francisco. As he left the shop and headed home he noticed a bum standing at a corner with a $300 pair of work boots on. His uncle stopped and confronted the bum about it since he had tried on the boots just minutes before. The bum said that he wasn't homeless at all but was doing this as a "side-job" for extra cash. It turns out that the bum had wealthy parents who had recently cut his allowance short for some irresponsible behavior. In order to make up for this shortage, he donned some dirty clothes, rubbed some dirt in his hair and on his face, and proceded to make $40 an hour begging on the street. $40 an hour.

Granted, Visalia is not San Francisco but I can imagine our local bums make a decent living. They spread the news that they've found the new "Gold Towne" and more bums begin to trickle in for their share of the beggings. Each new bum has nicer clothing, hair cuts, new sunglasses, and shoes. Maybe giving money to beggars is not the answer to solving poverty and homelessness. It seems to me that we are just encouraging laziness. Maybe we should hold bum seminars about saving and investing. That way they could use their $40 an hour towards buying a nice set of clothes that they could interview in. Or they could invest in a little trailor to live in.

By the way: Is this a liberal or conservative view?

My Family

This is us!

My darling husband being silly. He sent me this in a text message to brighten my day. What a wonderful guy! :)

This is Muffin. He looks a little mean in this picture but he is really a sweetheart! He has a little sister, Cutie who looks just like him (all black) but only about 2/3 his size. Oh, and she doesn't have any white chest hair either!

This is my Dad and Mom, Rich and Cindy. They're a little sleepy in this picture because they had just woken up from a nap. Hey, at least they are smiling! :)

This is my brother, Bud.

He loves to ride dirt bikes. Actually, he likes anything that has a motor in it.

This is Will really excited that he gets presants for Easter!

Good food, good company, and good conversations.

Lory and I are comparing our chest hair. haha!

I'm smiling because I have a stupid gummy bunny on my chest

My Best Friends

This is my best friend Chels. Isn't she so cute?! :)

This is my best friend Candace! She's just darling too. :)

A few more pics of our big day

Our photographer was Leigh Miller. She drove all the way up from Coronado to take our pictures. We were so pleased with her photography, personality, and her presentation. She was worth every penny!!!

Skipping back a little...

We tried to discourage comments like, "Don't do it!", but there still ended up to be about 4 or 5 by the end. I even got proposed to in writing by some cute kid!

These girls though I was the coolest thing in the world. They followed us singing "Going to the chapel and I'm gonna get married!"

They had me wear this big sign that said "I'm getting married! Any advice?" We walked all over down-town disney asking people to write me a little piece of advice. By the end of the night there wasn't an inch left on the board!

Here's Candace putting on my veil.

My best friends, Candace (left), and Chelsea (right), threw me an awesome bachelorette party!

This is one of the engagement pictures that our good friend Chelsea Vander Kooi took for us. I gave it a little extra effect through photoshop.

About Us

This is a picture of us on the best day of our lives: October 1, 2005.
We had a beautiful backyard wedding at Will's parent's house and then flew off to Cabo San Lucas to enjoy a wonderful week together as newlyweds. When we returned to California, we began moving into our new house that we bought together and so began the journey of our life as one. Now, 8 months later, we are expecting a little baby to join the family in early January 2007! Boy do we move fast!
